East Africa is often associated with a well known motion picture: "Out of Africa". This film displays rolling vistas of grasslands and mountains, dotted with a myriad of mammal species, endless plains and a sense of complete wilderness. In real life, this is truly not far from the truth! There are still vast stretches of land that are protected within National Parks such as the Masai Mara and The Serengeti. Besides these areas, there are countless more habitats and reserves

Taking an image, freezing a moment, reveals how rich reality truly is. - Anonymous At Safari Architects, we are in a very fortunate position as guides to be able to host our guests on journeys to some of the most beautiful places Africa has to offer. As all of our guests will know, we are extremely passionate about these ecosystems, the animals within them and about photographing them, both for our pleasure and for our clients. As a tribute, we are very

For us, there is no better way to share our experiences than through the imagery we are fortunate enough to capture whilst on safari with our guests. Our goal is to portray an experience that resembles the moment, as closely as we can. If you shared any of these moments with us, we hope they bring back some of the fondest memories. If you did not, then we hope they encourage you to investigate joining us on a safari soon!

It has been an amazing start to the year so far. The first quarter is now behind us, and to showcase some of our safari highlights, we have put together our best images from Africa 2017. A compilation of experiences we have together with our guests on safari. We have travelled between the Sabi Sands, the Timbavati, Northern KZN, southern Kalahari, the Okavango Delta and the Linyanti. We are often spoilt by incredible scenes whilst on safari, and we certainly do

The question is, are we happy to suppose that our grandchildren may never be able to see an elephant except in a picture book? - David Attenborough As a conservationist, safari guide and animal lover of all things big and small, the above statement terrifies me. For those of you like me who have had the privilege of spending time around these magical beasts, to think of a world without elephants is something I cannot fathom. Never to hear the low

To arrive at a place, walk in the door and be at a loss for words, is not something one experiences many times in life. I had a moment like this recently on a team getaway to The Outpost Lodge in the Northern reaches of the Kruger National Park. Walking into my room at the lodge, a contemporary, wide open space with the most incredible view, made me hold my breath. And just for a second, it felt like I was

Day 1 My guests and I had been waiting for this trip for the last 6 months! After a lot of banter and excitement, the day had finally arrived when we would be leaving for our Selinda adventure.  Both myself and Brad were leading the trip, and there were 6 guests (Sean, Brett, Jamie, Adam, Dylan and Jonesy)  along with our pilot Nic. We met very early at Lanseria where our Pilatus PC-12 aircraft was awaiting to speed us off. On

The Safari Architects team had a recent safari in the Sabi Sands Private Game reserve, where we spent time exploring Londolozi and Savanna. Below is a brief outline of our stay: It’s quite difficult to explain a feeling or an emotion. I think as humans this is inherently difficult, but with animals, its body language, smells, sounds and actions that say it all. If you were to see my reactions and read my “animal” signs from when I arrived at Londolozi

“In a few words, how would you describe it?” This was the first question a family member asked me upon my return from a recent Namibian safari with Wilderness Safaris. Epic, untamed, vast, harsh, beautiful, quiet and awe inspiring!   All of the above are words that can be used to describe Namibia. It is an enchanting country that I can now say I have had the immense pleasure of visiting. The safari I was on took me from Windhoek, down to
