01/02/2012 - Lion dynamics On a recent trip to the Savanna Private Game reserve in the Sabi Sands game reserve, I was once again lucky enough to see the mighty and famous Mapogo male lion coalitions and one of the resident female prides, the Ximungwe pride.  These lions are one the main reasons why I am so fascinated by lion behaviour, and I have learnt so much about pride dynamics from them.
